About Best Public Adjusters
A directory of public adjuster listings for New Jersey, and how to use it.
What this directory is
Best Public Adjusters is an online directory of public adjuster listings serving New Jersey. It exists to help policyholders compare firms in one place: each listing shows a business name and address with actions that lead to the firm itself. The top 10 listings are on the homepage.
The directory does not handle insurance claims, does not represent policyholders, and is not a public adjusting firm. Any claim is handled by the firm you choose to hire, under the agreement you sign with that firm.
What a public adjuster is
A public adjuster is a claims professional a policyholder hires to help document, value, and negotiate a property insurance claim. A public adjuster works for the policyholder, which makes the role distinct from the adjuster an insurance company sends to assess the same loss on the insurer's behalf.
Before hiring a firm, check its licensing status with the state insurance department and read any agreement in full before signing it, including how the firm is paid and what services it will provide.
New Jersey property and local context
New Jersey includes the Hudson River corridor, communities along the Delaware River, and an Atlantic coastline. The Jersey Shore runs from Perth Amboy to Cape May through Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, and Cape May counties. Sources: Wikipedia: New Jersey; Wikipedia: Jersey Shore.
Winter and early-spring nor'easters can bring snow or flooding to New Jersey. Tell a prospective adjuster whether your property is coastal, riverfront, or inland and explain the damage you observed. Confirm the exact municipality they can visit and their experience with your property type; a directory address does not establish service coverage. Geographic background: Wikipedia: New Jersey.
How to use the listings
Each listing carries two actions. Contact leads to that business's own verified contact destination, and Website opens the firm's main website in a new tab. An action that is not yet available means the destination has not been verified.
Inquiries sent through this site's Contact page reach the directory team, not the firm. To speak with a business, use the actions on its listing.
How listings are ordered
The owner-supplied rank numbers display in descending order, from 10 to 1. These positions are not an independently verified quality ranking. The selection method must be approved and published before launch.
